The Bay Area Municipal Elections Commission has unveiled a list of preferred candidates in the upcoming March primary.

Just days before the filing deadline, Phan decided he’d give Sacramento a go in a bid to replace Assemblyman Kansen Chu.

Five of the eight AD25 candidates appeared at the Tuesday evening event organized by [email protected] and held at Santa Clara University.

Kansen Chu says he’ll refrain from endorsing anyone in the race to replace him. But he came close by donating to the longtime SCUSD trustee.

Montano’s candidacy brings the number of contenders for Assemblyman Kansen Chu’s seat in the March 2020 primary to seven.
